The Opening Ceremony of EUSA-EHF Beach Handball Championship took place on July 25th in Zagreb at Jarun Lake. The Ceremony was attended by Mr. Milan Pavelić, Personal Representative  of the Major of the City of Zagreb and Head of the City Office for Sport and Youth, Mr. Wolf Fruhauf, SCAC CHAIR, Dr. Zrinko Čustonja, President of the Croatian Academic Sports Federation and the Organizing Committee, Mr. Tomislav Grahovac, President of the Croatian Handball Federation, Mr. Siniša Ostoić, Director of the National Beach Handball Teams at the Croatian Handball Federation and Managing Director of the Gazprom SEHA League.

Shortly after the parade of the teams and on behalf of the Organising Committee participants were welcomed by President of the Croatian Academic Sports Federation, Mr. Zrinko Čustonja.

EUSA Executive Committee representative, Mr. Wolf Fruhauf welcomed all participants and wished all teams and participants who came to test their skills and abilities well ahead of the start of the competition, while also thanking the Organising Committee for all their contributions.

The competition is organised by EUSA and EHF with the contribution of HASS (Croatian Academic Sports Federation). The participants were welcomed in the biggest recreational area of Zagreb, lake Jarun, and the event will be organized in a top-grade sports facility, which hosted European Beach Handball Championship 2017.

Championship will take place between July 24 and 27 in Zagreb.

The first edition of the EUSA-EHF Beach Handball Championship was opened by Mr. Milan Pavelić, Personal Representative of the Major of the City of Zagreb and Head of the City Office for Sport and Academic Sports Federation and the Organizing Committee. The Competition will host sixth female and ten male teams from 12 universities, coming from 8 countries. 

A total of 16 teams will battle for the first title of the EUSA-EHF Beach Handball Championship.
