After the early morning games, male athletes took a short break and left the competition courts on sunny Lake Jarun. The first students of German Sport University Cologne and Tilburg University ran out of the field in their first historical beach handball match. The first victory in the women’s competition went to the side of Netherlands, which will remain as the first female athletes who won at the first match in the history of the European University Beach Handball Championship (Final result 2:0). The second female match between the University of Novi Sad and Cyprus International University was completed with 2:0 in favor of Serbia. And the last match in this morning’s tournament was played by the University of Barcelona and the University of Zagreb. With a score of 2:0, the winner went to host athletes.

The students of the German Sport University Cologne beat Cyprus International University with 2:0, but in the third match, they were more powerless than domestic Croatia (Final result 0:2). Female athletes from Tilburg University lost a match against Spain who won both sets. The third defeat of Cyprus International University was enrolled after the match with athletes Tilburg University. And the last match of the day, 21st, was played by the athletes of the University of Novi Sad and the University of Barcelona. The victory with both sets was won by Serbia.

The female athletes will continue with the group stage on the second competition day and try to do their best and make some good results on this Championship.
