Girls from German Sport University Cologne didn’t reach semifinals on the first European Universities Beach Handball Championship, but they are not dissatisfied with their whereabouts in Zagreb, because according to the words of Lara Kellermann, their goal was to acquire new experience.

‘’Our expectations from this tournament were just to have fun and to gain experience because this was first competition on which we played all together. We are a mixed team, we have some players who already played beach handball, and who didn’t. But we are a very good team, and it works well’’.
For Lara and her teammates, it’s a great honor to participate in the tournament and be a part of history.
‘’It feels very good. This our first chance to show what we can, and we want to participate and the next years. For us, it’s a great pleasure to be here and to have the chance to have this experience, so it’s very cool’’.

Beach Handball is a young sport, and Kellermann told us that competitions for students are very important for further popularizing this sport.

‘’Beach handball soon will be on the Olympics, and we all hope that tournaments like this will improve our sport because beach handball is so nice. This is a great opportunity for all of us to show what we can and to play beach handball. It’s a great place to show it”.
