EUSA and EHF to introduce Beach Handball in university sport

Representatives of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) - Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik and Sports Manager Mr Besim Aliti, met on November 22 in Vienna the representatives of the European Handball Federation (EHF) - Chairman of the Beach Handball Commission Mr Ole Jorstad, Mr Stefan Lovgren, EHF Executive Committee Member Mr Peter Froschl and Ms Ivana Jelic, both members of EHF Office Beach Handball.

At the meeting, operational details regarding the organisation of the EUSA-EHF European Universities Beach Handball Championships were discussed. The meeting was organized as a follow up on the initial meeting organized in June 2017, during the European Beach Handball Championship in Zagreb and agreement of the EUSA Executive Committee to include Beach Handball on the EUSA Sports Program in 2019.

Beach Handball is a growing sport with a big potential within university community, as the majority of participants at Beach Handball events are students.

EUSA and EHF have been partners and successfully collaborating since 2013. We strongly believe that inclusion of Beach Handball will additionally strengthen the collaboration and further promote handball in university sport.
